Overall rating: ★★★●★☆☆
This show seemed to exist only to kill some time. Basically nothing happened. It didn't even live up to its name. It got all the way to the main event before I realised "wait a minute; isn't this supposed to be Extreme Rules?" The only no-DQ match before that was the triple threat, and it was just a normal triple threat. No one used weapons or anything. I wasn't expecting AEW-style barbed wire and blood, but I expected something.
- Six Person Tag (The New Day vs. AJ Styles, Omos & Bobby Lashley)
★★★●☆☆☆
This should have been a pre-show match. Styles and Omos are barely a team as it is, so adding Lashley in there just makes it seem like three random dudes who have no reason to work together. The New Day did lose the titles to Styles and Omos a while back and E took the title from Lashley, so there is that sort of rivalry there, but it just doesn't quite come together into any coherent whole. Especially since Styles and Omos don't even have the titles any more. - Smackdown Tag Team Championship (Street Profits vs. The Usos)
★★★●★☆☆
My main problem with this match is that the question of whether Ford would be able to overcome his injury and get the win just seemed too obvious. And Pat McAfee is still terrible. - Raw Championship (Charlotte Flair vs. Alexa Bliss)
★★★●★☆☆
I was keen to see where Alexa's character went after Bray Wyatt left, but unfortunately the answer seems to have been "nowhere". They've gradually dialled back the supernatural stuff so now she's just a woman with a doll. She's still doing her best, but the writers just don't seem to have any interest in the character. And it's really weird because the gimmick is obviously popular. People were chanting "thank you Lily" after this match. - United States Championship Triple Threat (Jeff Hardy vs. Sheamus vs. Damien Priest)
★★★●★☆☆
Sheamus is very good but I don't care about either of these other guys or the US title. Actually, does anyone are about the US title? The IC title often has some good stories, but the US title always seems to be an afterthought. A way to keep wrestlers on simmer when they have no ideas for them but don't want the audience to forget about them. - Smackdown Championship (Becky Lynch vs. Bianca Belair)
★★★●★☆☆
I had high expectations for this match and it was just ok. And Pat McAfee is still fucking terrible. - Universal Championship Extreme Rules (Roman Reigns vs. The Demon Bálor)
★★★●☆☆☆
I liked the bit where Balor popped up with a bunch of kendo sticks taped together and Reigns rolled his eyes at him like "what are we even doing?" I also really liked that Roman put a mask on when they fought outside the ring (near the audience). But other than that I wasn't really into this match, and right near the end it all became very confusing.
