Overall rating: ★★★●★☆☆
Some really good matches but, unfortunately, a few low points dragging the average down. And did it need to be four hours long? That's not even including the pre-show; the main show was four hours. The main event was very good though and worth the wait. But is it just me, or was Jim Ross sounding a little lost and confused at times? More so than usual, I mean.
- Singles (Chris Jericho vs. Eddie Kingston)
★★★●☆☆☆
I want to like Eddie Kingston, but I just don't. I think maybe we don't get enough of him for me to actually connect with the character. And I don't see where his story goes from here; or where Jericho's story goes, for that matter. - Men's Tag Championship Triple Threat (Young Bucks vs. reDRagon vs. Jurassic Express)
★★★●★★☆
I've been consistently disappointed with how little attention is given to some of the wrestlers who've been in AEW from the start, like Jurassic Express. Even as the champions, they somehow feel like the least important team in this match. They're really good though! Not that the Young Bucks and reDRagon aren't also good, or deserving of the spotlight, but I think the actual champions should probably be at the centre of the story rather than it being all about the fragile alliance between the Elite and the Undisputed. Even though that is a really good story that I'm enjoying a lot. - Face of the Revolution Ladder Match (Christian Cage vs. Powerhouse Hobbs vs. Wardlow vs. Ricky Starks vs. Keith Lee vs. Orange Cassidy)
★★★●★★☆
A ladder match can actually be great when they have fun with it and don't try to convince us that climbing a ladder is super difficult, actually. A lot of cool stuff happened and it was nice to see Wardlow getting to do more interesting stuff. He's good when he's allowed to be. - TBS Championship (Tay Conti vs. Jade Cargill)
★★★●★☆☆
I liked that Jade was dressed as Jade. I didn't like that she forcefully kissed Tay at the start of the match. Otherwise the match was ok, and I'm a little interested to see whether Anna Jay's interference is going to have any consequences in the future. - Dog Collar Match (MJF vs. CM Punk)
★★★○☆☆☆
To me, this whole feud only really makes sense if MJF is being genuine, but that doesn't seem to fit his character. So I didn't really care about it and actually got bored and started making dinner while it was on. I did like the bit when Wardlow came out though. You could instantly see what was happening and why. Very well planned and executed. - Women's Championship (Dr Britt Baker vs. Thunder Rosa)
★★★●☆☆☆
Baker seemed weirdly overconfident in this match; like she wasn't really trying. And the constant distracting of the ref was a little much. Not great. - Singles (Jon Moxley vs. Bryan Danielson)
★★★●★★☆
The pacing of this match was fantastic, and Danielson is such a perfect smug bastard (who actually is as good as he thinks he is) so you love to see him lose but you also love to see him win. You hate him but you've got to respect him. The blood was a little much, but otherwise it was great. - Tornado Trios Tag (Andrade-Hardy Family Office vs. Sammy Guevara, Sting and Darby Allin)
★☆☆○☆☆☆
Skipped. - Men's Championship (Adam Cole vs. "Hangman" Adam Page)
★★★●★★☆
"Let's go Adam!" / "Adam sucks!"
"We want Adam!"
"This is Adam!"
"Fight for Adam!"
The chants were so good. The match as well.
