Impact No Surrender

Overall Rating: ★★★●★☆☆

Good solid show over all, with fun moments and interesting hooks for future stories. As usual, there's stuff I'd have done differently, but I've got no major complaints about this one - aside from the two people who shouldn't be on the show at all, but that's a bigger issue than just this specific event.

  1. X Division #1 Contender (Ace Austin vs. Mike Bailey vs. Jake Something vs. Chris Bey)
    ★★★●★★☆
This was a really cool match to watch. Lots of flips and cool moves from Austin and Bailey, and it was really well-paced and fun. All that keeps it from getting 7/7 is that there wasn't really any big, memorable moment.
  2. Singles (Jonah vs Black Taurus)
    ★★★●★☆☆
Two big men jumping and smashing into each other. I liked it.
  3. Singles (Eric Young vs. Jay White)
    ★★★●★☆☆
Whatever you may think of the two individuals (and I prefer White), Violent By Design is no Bullet Club, and presenting it as the two leaders facing off to represent their respective factions weakened the match.
  4. ROH Women's Championship (Deonna Purrazzo vs. Miranda Alize)
    ★★★●★☆☆
There were some cool moments, but mostly this was just a pretty decent match.
  5. Digital Media Championship (Jordynne Grace vs. Matt Cardona)
    ★★★●★★☆
Although this wasn't as good as their first match (in which Cardona won the championship from Grace) I like this story a lot and I hope it continues.
  6. Men's Tag Championship (Good Brothers vs. Guerrillas of Destiny)
    ★★★●★★☆
GOD are great - especially Tama Tonga. Real good tag teaming. And the ending to the match has some intriguing implications for the story going forward.
  7. Knockouts Championship (Tasha Steelz vs. Mickie James)
    ★★★●★☆☆
Very interested to see where this goes. Is James turning heel? And why is a low blow not a disqualification for women? I'd like to see some consistency in the rules here.
  8. Men's Championship (Moose vs W Morrissey)
    ★☆☆○☆☆☆
    Skipped.
  9. 10-Man Tag (Honor No More vs. Team Impact)
    ★★★●★☆☆
I did watch this one, but I'm taking a point off for Rich Swann's involvement. It was a surprisingly fun match, and that ending is possibly the first time I've really cared about this storyline?
