WWE Survivor Series

Overall rating: ★★★○☆☆☆

This pay-per-view and the "draft" that preceded it make absolutely no sense. When they were picking people for each show, who was supposed to have been doing that? There are no general managers, just Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville jointly running both shows. The shows don't have identities. It's all just WWE. When the wrestlers were getting drafted they were all acting super happy about whichever show they got picked for, but why? What does being on one show or the other even mean? In real life I guess it affects their work schedule and who they get to see regularly, but that clearly wasn't part of the story. And now the two shows are competing against each other, but what does it mean to win or lose here? As far as I can tell, nothing. It means nothing. It's worth nothing. There is nothing at stake and no consequences. The whole concept was completely mishandled.

  1. Champion vs. Champion (Charlotte Flair vs. Becky Lynch)
    ★★★●☆☆☆
I think these are the worst costumes either of them have ever worn. And I don't really care about either of them or this match. They're both extremely good and gave it all they had, but the story behind it's been shit. Not their fault, but it has.
  2. Survivor Series Elimination Tag (Bobby Lashley; Austin Theory; Finn Bálor; Kevin Owens & Seth Rollins vs. King Woods; Jeff Hardy; Sheamus; Happy Corbin & Drew McIntyre)
    ★★★○☆☆☆
OK, first I just have to point out that it should be King Xavier, not King Woods. I don't know if they're doing it wrong on purpose for some reason, but surely someone must have told them, right? And they're sticking with it.
Normally I like an elimination match, but these teams are just random people fighting over, I guess, which show is better? But there's no reason to care. It doesn't mean anything. They were only recently assigned to those shows, by some unknown process, and the winning show/team gets nothing. What is the fucking point?
  3. The Rock's 25th Anniversary 25 Man Battle Royal
    ★★★●★☆☆
It wasn't clear when this match started if it was a team or individual victory, because everyone was in their show's colours, and some people entered individually but others entered as tag teams. Turned out it was individual and the team colours meant nothing. Oh, and Rock "the Dwayne" Johnson? Not present. Not even a pre-recorded video message from him. They threw him a party and he didn't come. Sad.
  4. Tag Team Champions vs. Champions (The Usos vs. RK-Bro)
    ★☆☆○☆☆☆
    Skipped.
  5. Survivor Series Elimination Tag (Bianca Belair; Carmella; Queen Zelina; Liv Morgan & Rhea Ripley vs. Natalya; Shayna Baszler; Toni Storm; Shotzi & Sasha Banks)
    ★★★●☆☆☆
There were bits of this I liked, but mostly it was just like seeing some previews for matches that we might get to see in the future. Except that the people involved are currently on different shows, so probably not any time soon. But look, they got Zelina's title right.
  6. Champion vs. Champion (Big E vs. Roman Reigns)
    ★★★●☆☆☆
    Went about as I expected.
