Marvel's Runaways - Doomsday

I feel I'm being pretty repetitive at this point, but that's just the nature of this show, apparently. Nothing continues to happen.

Little sister, teddy bear, magic glowing rock.

This episode's flashback show what we already basically knew - that the little sister's parents found out that the plan was evil and tried to stop it and that's why they were killed. The kids also get this info from the video tape. We also learn that little sister's powers come from some magic rocks and that it was cultist's mum who did the murder and goth's mum knew about it. We don't learn anything interesting though, like why the formerly old guy is doing any of this or what the parents get out of it.

It's a drill. A really big drill.

We get some equally pointless information about the construction that blerd's dad's been doing. It's a giant drill. To drill for a "renewable energy source". But even though all the parents are in on this and it seems to be a large part of what they've been trying to do, none of them actually seem to know any of the details at all. And they're only now starting to ask questions like "so what even is this energy source we're trying to dig up?"

It's a really, really big drill.

The episode ends with the kids going to the constructions site, smashing a machine and throwing a truck down the hole. I'm not sure that they accomplished anything meaningful though. In fact, I'm pretty sure they didn't. Meanwhile, cultist's dad has told formerly old guy everything that his daughter told him, so now he knows what the kids have been up to and he calls all the parents together and tells them so they can all show up at the construction site to confront the kids. I actually was surprised by that, because I thought cultist's dad was going to continue to be basically good but completely oblivious the whole time and then get killed before he figured anything out. I still think he's going to die though.

You are definitely going to be rewarded and not murdered. Definitely.

Other than that, nerd and jock had sex at the school dance (in an empty room, not in front of everyone), cultist kissed goth (who didn't seem to mind), and nerd's parents started to figure out that little sister's parents were probably killed because they knew too much, which I'm pretty sure everyone else already knew.

While at a dance, they went to find an empty room to dance in.
