Marvel's Runaways - Hostile

Well, that's over. And despite a pretty strong start, I don't think I'll be watching season two. Because this is where we should have been by episode three or four. The show's just been spinning its wheels for far too long and I'm bored.

This episode had a lot of cool group shots like this.
The final episode starts with the showdown between kids and parents, and the parents win easily. Then the formerly old guy shows up and wins some more. Cultist stays behind to hold him off and gets captured while the rest of the kids escape.

Were the power gloves always flamethrowers?
Most of the rest of the episode (from the kids' perspective) is them breaking her out of the fake cult, with the help of some guy who works there and also cultist's mum. 'Cause now the parents are good guys - except for cultist's dad and jock's dad who's still an arsehole and in a coma. Then someone reports the kids to the police for kidnapping the little sister and murdering that girl from episode one, so they have to go on the run and the episode's over.

These two creepy women try to stop them.
But meanwhile the parents are all like "we don't like this guy we've been helping this whole time because he's maybe threatening our kids now?" And they actually look in the big hole and discover there's a living creature at the bottom. So they all get together and decide to work against the formerly old guy - even cultist's mum, even though she killed little sister's parents and knew that formerly old guy killed goth's sister. Except for the blerd's parents, who are doing their own thing.

They were pretty tempted to kill her for a bit though.
And cultist's dad is still working with formerly old guy, and they've got jock's dad in the magic box and seem to think everything's going pretty much according to plan. What is the plan? I guess we'll never know.

Also, lesbians.
