Marvel's Runaways - Tsunami

Things just keep not happening in this show, don't they? I feel like we're in the same position now as we were at the end of the previous episode. It's all hints and allusions and nothing concrete. Mysteries built on mysteries without any solutions or resolutions. What are the parents trying to do? No idea. How does the formerly old guy fit in? He seems to be kind of in charge of the whole thing but most of the parents don't seem to know who he is or what he wants - but they've been doing these sacrifices to keep him alive for years? The kids are no closer to doing anything at all. It's entertaining to watch but as soon as each episode's over you just find yourself thinking "wait, what actually happened in this episode?"

Apparently the nerd's parents are doctors. Sort of?
So the majority of this episode centres around the jock's dad, who's not quite as dead as previously assumed. He is dying though, and they spend the entire episode trying to save him. The whole gang gets involved, even the cultist's dad - even though he still doesn't know what all the other parents are up to. He does have that healing power that the formerly old guy gave him, but it doesn't work.

What does this healing power even have to do with anything?
So then goth's mum calls the formerly old guy and he shows up and says they have to sacrifice jock's mum to save jock's dad since she shot him. There's a big argument about it and whether it should be someone else. Someone suggests cultist's dad, and no one really seems to object to that idea at all (he's out of the room by this stage) but then they don't do that for some reason. So goth's dad decides to sacrifice himself because h'es feeling guilty.

He put on the power glove to stop them from stopping him.
But goth's mum's not into that idea and she smashes the sacrifice box with her magic staff, and the formerly old guy decides they don't need to sacrifice anyone anyway, they can just use the remaining box to keep jock's almost dead dad in stasis or something. Because they maybe still need him for something they're avoiding talking about in order to preserve the mystery.

Also something about mitochondria?
Meanwhile, the blerd tells the goth that he'd talked to the goth's dead sister before she died and found out their mother had put a keylogger on her computer and it made her bad at video games. Then he finishes hacking the video and confirms that it shows the parents doing all the sacrifices. Most of them still want to go to the police, but jock's changed his mind because he believes (possibly correctly?) that the parents are going to save his dad's life. So they fight and the jock smashes the laptop.

He found the keylogger with his new fancy antivirus software..
At the same time, the little sister has been sent away to her... aunt's? Her relative's place, where she's given a mysterious note and key that her parents left for her. It leads her to a train station locker (that somehow hasn't been emptied in all this time) containing a video tape, and she doesn't know what that even is. Also goth found her dead sister's secret second phone and plugged it in to charge, and we see (but she doesn't yet) the final message that was sent to it.

How mysterious.
Does this even make sense? I'm starting to have trouble following it but I think that' just because I no longer give two shits about what's going on. It's just been stringing me along for too long and I'm over it. I'll watch to the end of the season, because why not, but seriously, when are they going to get to the fireworks factory?

Actually this show would be better if it was just about the adults.
